These are very similar to old hand forged scissors with big hand holes for leverage. The scissors are made of hardened steel and come in three different sizes: small, medium, and large. The small measures 4 inches long, the medium measures 6 inches long, and the large measures 8 inches long.  Each size is handy for a variety of jobs, from snipping thread to cutting leather.
