Seam smoothers were used to crease heavy cloth flat to make it easier to sew a seam. They were mostly used by sailmakers, but they can be used for other jobs like leather working. Our seam smoother is made of cherry wood and finished with boiled linseed oil. It measures 6 1/8 inches long and 2 inches at its widest point.
